Cindy Contreras, MA, LMFT

Cindy is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 108604) with over a decade of combined professional and clinical expertise working with adults, children, couples and families in various milieus including hospital, military and school-based settings. Cindy provides individual and couples counseling at In-Sight Transformative Therapy Group in San Diego using evidenced-based practices which include cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, emotionally-focused, attachment and play therapies.

Cindy assists those struggling with addiction and recovery, mood and anxiety, grief and loss, complex trauma, body dysmorphia, marital distress, and severe behavioral and emotional challenges. In addition, she has experience with inpatient and outpatient settings, and can assist in the coordination of care with outside providers. Cindy enjoys aiding individuals in thoughtful, engaging and purposeful exploration of the Self who seek to improve their relationships and find balance in their lives.

Cindy received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from Azusa Pacific University in San Diego. She is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF). Cindy also provides emergent services with the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT) in San Diego. In addition, Cindy is certified in Critical Incident Stress Management and Clinical Hypnotherapy, and has conducted mindfulness-based workshops throughout San Diego county.
